ABOUT SANDY’S CAFE
Sandy’s Cafe is a locally owned breakfast and lunch cafe in Columbus, Georgia, founded by Isaac Salazar and Alonso Trevizo. The two became friends while serving with the Columbus Police Department in 2017, and their shared background in public service helped shape the heart behind the business.
Before opening Sandy’s Cafe, both owners spent years serving others through law enforcement, and Isaac also served in the military. That experience gave them a deep appreciation for community, hospitality, and the importance of creating a place where people feel welcome. Alonso later stepped away from law enforcement to lead Sandy’s Cafe full time as general manager, while Isaac continues to serve as a reserve officer.
Sandy’s officially opened on May 4 at 2357 Warm Springs Road in the space formerly occupied by Midtown Cafe and Bakery. What began as a plan to launch a food truck turned into an opportunity to build something even bigger, a warm and welcoming cafe where people can gather, enjoy a good meal, share conversation, work, study, or simply take a break from the day.
The name Sandy’s is deeply personal. It honors Alonso Trevizo’s mother, Sandra, and the rose in the logo pays tribute to Isaac Salazar’s late wife, Rosie. Every part of the cafe reflects the owners’ vision of building something meaningful, rooted in family, faith, service, and community.
At Sandy’s Cafe, the goal is simple. Serve great food, create a welcoming atmosphere, and become a lasting staple in the Columbus community.
